Pelosi Breaks Pledge to Put Final Health Care Bill Online for 72 Hours Before Vote

House members are still negotiating important issues in the bill--whether it will provide taxpayer-funding for abortions, for example. Pelosi is pushing for a Saturday House vote, and a number of big changes will be introduced, likely less than 24 hours before the vote takes place (if in fact it does). The Rules Committee hasn't yet released its resolution, or rule, that must be passed before the bill can move from committee to the floor. The rule will set the terms of debate and determine what amendments are in order. More

Speaker Pelosi’s Government-Run Health Plan Will Require a Monthly Abortion Premium

Health care reform should not be used as an opportunity to use federal funds to pay for elective abortions. Health reform should be an opportunity to protect human life - not end it. More

COMMON-SENSE HEALTH CARE REFORMS OUR NATION CAN AFFORD

The public option mirage

According to a Congressional Budget Office (CBO) study of the House bill, only 6 million Americans would be enrolled in the public option by the time it's fully phased in, in 2019.

I don't know about anyone else, but this 6 million Americans number tells me that Democrats know that that is the true number of the uninsured.

A focus on making health insurance more affordable is much better than a public option because after all, isn't that the argument that people have about not having it? I love (not) the way that the government (current administration) wants to be OUR daddy and provide something for us as oppose to leaving us alone so we can behave as adults and so we can take responsibility for our own actions. Most of the uninsured are those who are young and believe that they are invisible...hmm, but these same young people have brand new cars, satellite radio, satellite TV or cable, cell phones, laptops, brand name clothes, get manicures/pedicures (both sexes), get waxed...etc. these services all have a high cost and they seem to be more important than health insurance.

Any time the government wants to take over any service that should be our responsibility, vote NO! Trust me you will be better for it! No wonder people in this country act like children instead of adults!
